In progress #4

I'm enjoying working on these two pieces:

I've changed my mind 3 times about what fabric to use to cover this boudoir chair but I finally found the perfect fabric today...
I'll finish the chair tomorrow.

The wingback was quite an ugly thing to begin with
but it's been stripped down to it's bones and ready to be
built back up.
I'm thinking of covering it in heavy canvas and burlap
... restoration h'ware like.

I was going to paint the legs because they are pretty beat up
but yesterday while I was sanding them I realized that it would be a shame to cover them up.
Being able to see
all of the dings and dents in the wood just add to the character.

I'll post more photos once I have them covered.

Buttercup Beauty

Holy cow, this chair turned out as beautiful as I imagined!

Metallic bronze paint distressed to let the details pop
She will be available during the April warehouse
sale at Repurposed & Refined April 20-22

Subtle gold streaks

Brass finials hold up a detachable pillow

This is what she looked like when I bought her ...
not bad, just tired looking and faded:

A color ditty:

Is my main
It is insane

Older hutch
Turned anew
Now it's fresh
As morning dew

Dingy brass
What a plight
Rub with steel
Out of sight!

Added lights
Inside they shine
Hark! I hear
Bring On The Wine!

Greenish walls, purplish hutch, black table & red/brown floors.

Phew, that's about as rhymie as I can get ... werd to me!

I used Martha Stewart Living paint in Weathervane.
It's not black, it's not full on purple ... it's just lovely.

The green on the walls, the black of the dining table and the red/brown floors all play together nicely.
While I do love the look of B'faye this hutch fits
here better ... it's staying put.

You know what this means right?
Yup, since I don't have B'faye in here to put lamps
on for the ambiance lighting I'm going to have to
try my hand at a birdcage chandelier.
I've been wanting to for months now and we have all of the fixins ... so check off 'hutch' from the To-Do list and
add chandelier.
